When I don’t Feel the Presence of God

There are days when I am” beat”. When my heart is heavy, my faith weak and I lack the strength to fathom what tomorrow looks like. At such moments, I feel distanced from the divine presence. At times like this, it’s all too easy to believe the whispers of doubt and feelings of unworthiness that the devil cunningly plants in my consciousness. That, I am unworthy of being in the presence of my God.

In such spiritual upheaval, I turn to the Bible. and find the word of God that defines me. God is my creator and thus the only one that can say who I am and who I am not. If you are in this position, meditate with me on these Bible readings.

My identity comes from God

Psalms 139:13-14
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

God will never leave me

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
This is our daily assurance that;
Romans 3:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am a child of God

1 John 3:2

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Psalms 82:6

I have said, Ye are gods, and all of you are children of the most High.

Meditate on these Bible readings day and night. The word of God is your sword in the fight against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:10-18).
