Contemplating Heaven and Hell: Exploring Emotions of Gladness and Fear

Did you know that Jesus died for 100% of your sins? He received punishment for all of them. This means that it is already done. Salvation is a gift. It’s free.
Salvation is therefore about what Jesus has already done for you and not what you can do.
Praying and going to church will not save you and get you to heaven. You just need to understand what Jesus did on the cross and accept the gift by trusting that He has done it on your behalf.
This will require faith.

Have you ever been asked or thought about the question of heaven or hell?
Was your response fill with gladness or fear?
1st John chapter 4 verse 18 explains this;

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

Knowing and accepting that Jesus received punishment for you should motivate you to want to live the way He wants you to out of gratitude to Him.

You should not continue with your former life of sin. Continuing with sin means that you are knowingly and willingly rejecting God’s grace and becoming His enemy.
Hebrews 10 and verses 26 and 27

“If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. “

It is important to understand that when we receive the gift of salvation we also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us and gives us a new life. The Holy Spirit helps us go through the journey of sanctification to receive the righteousness of God.
This is explained in Galatians 5 and verse 5

“For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”
